With so much happening around us on top of daily responsibilities its no wonder many of us feel drained and easily distracted from our work. Staying focused amidst busy schedules may seem daunting, but its definitely not impossible. With a little self-discipline and these 4 practical tips, you can curb distractions and improve your focus while studying.

Juggling work across multiple subjects can be stressful, which is why staying organised is so important to stay on track.

  • Use your phones app limit feature to control time spent on distractions like social media or games. - Try setting up accountability with friends my friends and I set passwords for each other to keep ourselves focused. - Use tools like Pomofocus a free online Pomodoro timer to manage study sessions effectively. These small adjustments can make a big difference in your productivity.

To make your workflow sustainable in the long run, remember to reward yourself with breaks throughout the day! Many students overlook this especially during exam periods but pushing yourself too hard often leads to burnout. (Trust me, Ive been there!) Reflecting on my Secondary and JC journey, I wish I had balanced studying with self-care better.

  • Have a light snack ?? - Scroll through your phone for 10 minutes - Take a short walk my personal favourite is strolling around the supermarket! Rewarding yourself helps reduce stress, boost motivation, and make studying a little more enjoyable.

A healthy body fuels a healthy mind. To prevent burnout and keep your energy levels high, make sure your basic needs are met: - Stay hydrated ?? - Get enough sleep ?? - Eat balanced meals ?? Taking care of your physical health allows your body to recharge, helping you feel less lethargic and more productive. I understand how easy it is to neglect your health when buried in work. But its not an either-or situation you can still study hard and stay healthy. Try incorporating small healthy habits into your routine even minor changes can make a huge difference. > One of the most important parts of studying is avoiding distractions and burnout. > Keeping your body healthy ensures your mind stays sharp for a long day of learning.
